FAQs - The ins and outs…

  • Not yet! Currently working on that process. Stay tuned!

  • If you are new to massage therapy, you may have a few questions prior to your first appointment. When you arrive you’ll fill out a health history and consent form. This will take approximately 10 minutes and that time will not be taken out of your hands on massage time. After review of health history, injuries or physical conditions, we will discuss areas of your body you’d like to address.

I will step out of the room while you undress to your level of comfort and lay onto the table underneath the blanket and sheet. During your massage you will be professionally draped and I will only uncover the area of the body being worked on.

Your comfort matters, feel free to talk as much or as little as you wish. I encourage open lines of communication to inform me of any discomforts in your session such as temperature, music preference, pressure changes. Keeping your body relaxed and breathing normally with some deep breathing allows the muscles and mind to stay relaxed. This is your session.

When your massage is complete, I will step out of the room while you get dressed. Be aware as you stand up, you may feel light headed. Please stand up slowly. We will check in on how the massage went and answer any questions you may have. This is also a good time to rebook your next session.

  • You will likely feel quite relaxed and also may not feel great after your massage. It is normal to feel some discomfort as well as relief after your massage. You may experience sore muscles which can often take a day or two to relax.

Taking a 20-30 minute epsom salt bath after your massage is recommended to aid in muscle recovery, reduce inflammation and help alleviate soreness.

Hydration the 24 hours around your massage is recommended and important to aid in muscle recovery, circulation, help prevent soreness and dehydration.

  • I recommend weekly or every other week massage for more acute issues until the issue is resolved. Monthly massage is a nice maintenance plan for overall wellbeing. Some people prefer an every other week massage, every other month or twice a year massage. It really is an individual preference, you know your mind and body best.

  • Absolutely! Please ask me about areas you’d like to work on and we can discuss ideas.

  • At this time the best way to rebook is directly after your session to ensure you get your ideal time/day for your next session. Calling or texting to rebook is an option as well.

Essential Oils are used for aromatherapy purposes only and not used on the skin.

  • Each session is tailored to the client’s pressure request. I encourage open communication to adjust pressure needs during session. This is your session and I want you to feel that your needs are met.

“Deep tissue” doesn’t necessarily mean hard pressure. The tissue and muscles are warmed up so they will accept deep, slow pressure. Keeping the muscles as relaxed as possible is important. I want you to be able to breathe through the pressure. If you find yourself holding your breath the pressure is too much. Pain is not the goal, muscle release is.
